Detailed Specifications & Features

Barrel Zinc Plating Line Barrel Plating Equipment

This automatic barrel zinc plating line is designed for bulk zinc plating of small and medium-sized metal components such as fasteners, hardware parts and other suitable workpieces. The system combines barrel plating, automatic gantry transfer and PLC/IPC process control to reduce manual handling and improve process consistency.

Key Features

  1. Automatic Operation
Automatic processing throughout the plating line, with manual loading and unloading. Barrels are transferred by trolley and gantry transporter.

  2. High-Efficiency Gantry Transporter
The number of gantry transporters can be configured according to production requirements. The transporter provides vertical lifting and horizontal movement with high- and low-speed control.

  3. Easy Operation
Operators only need to enter the product code. The IPC automatically retrieves the corresponding process parameters and controls the PLC to complete the preset plating process.

  4. Reliable & Accurate Running
The transporter uses absolute positioning, while each tank is assigned a unique identification code to ensure accurate positioning and prevent out-of-track operation.

  5. Multiple Safety Protections

    • Collision-avoidance devices installed on the transporter.

    • Rail-end safety blocks and power-off protection to prevent the transporter from running off the track.

    • Safety ropes connected to emergency brakes along both sides of the plating line.

Basic Operation

The operator places the loaded barrel trolley at the loading station and enters the product code through the barrel code, IC card, or computer interface. After pressing “Load Ready," the IPC retrieves the preset process parameters and sends commands to the PLC.

The gantry transporter automatically lifts the barrel and transfers it through each plating process according to the programmed sequence. After processing, the barrel is placed on the trolley at the unloading station, and an alarm notifies the operator to unload the finished products.

During operation, key process data such as temperature, processing time, and current are automatically recorded in the IPC for monitoring, traceability, file storage, and printing.

Engineering & Customization

Every barrel zinc plating line is designed according to the customer's production requirements. Before equipment manufacturing, our engineers evaluate the workpiece size and weight, barrel capacity, plating chemistry, process sequence, required production output, tank arrangement and factory layout.

The control program can be configured according to different product codes and plating processes. Process parameters such as temperature, current and processing time can be monitored and recorded through the IPC system.

FAQ

1. What types of parts are suitable for barrel zinc plating?

Barrel zinc plating is generally suitable for small and medium-sized metal components that can be processed in bulk, such as fasteners, screws, nuts, washers and other small hardware parts. Part geometry, size, weight and surface requirements should be evaluated before selecting barrel plating.

2. What is the typical process of a barrel zinc plating line?

A typical process may include loading, degreasing, rinsing, activation or neutralization, zinc plating, rinsing, passivation and final washing or drying. The exact process sequence is customized according to the workpiece material and required coating performance.

3. Is the barrel zinc plating line fully automatic?

The line can be configured as an automatic system. In this configuration, the gantry transporter automatically transfers the barrel between process tanks, while loading and unloading can be performed manually using a trolley.

4. Can the plating process be customized?

Yes. The tank arrangement, barrel capacity, transfer system, control system, process sequence and auxiliary equipment can be customized according to the customer's production requirements and factory layout.

5. How is the plating process controlled?

The system can use PLC and IPC control. Process information such as temperature, processing time and current can be monitored and recorded according to the control configuration.

6. What safety systems are available?

The automatic transfer system can incorporate safety features such as collision avoidance, rail protection, emergency braking and emergency-stop systems. The final safety configuration depends on the equipment design and factory installation requirements.
